Bal Oniks · Afyonkarahisar Translucent
Amber banding, and the light goes through.
A honey-ground onyx run through with amber and caramel banding. It is translucent: backlit it changes register completely, which is why it almost always ends up in interiors and hospitality. A delicate material that has to be chosen block by block — fractures do not show in a catalogue photograph, they show at the quarry with water on the stone.
